Why choose RADAMER? Why choose SPOMLEK?

The quality of wine is determined by more than the quality of the vineyard; it includes the variety of grape, the characteristics of the region and the soil that the grapes are grown in. The same applies when maturing cheeses.

The most recognised Polish cheese is RADAMER, the finest product of the SPOMLEK Dairy Co-operative in Radzyń Podlaski. It is a product characteristic of the Lubelskie region from the east of Poland .

The northern part of the Lubelskie region has ecological conditions eminently suitable for the production of milk and beef, thanks to its soil profile, little artificial fertilisation and little industry.

SPOMLEK is supplied with milk from more than 3000 farms, from widely differentiated areas. The average milk productivity has doubled during last 15 years.

Owing to the long-standing assistance of SPOMLEK in the purchases of breed heifers from Germany and the Netherlands , farmer-shareholders of the co-operative acquire nearly 1500 heifers annually. For this purpose, SPOMLEK provides its members with an interest-free loan for 3 years. This strategy has already allowed the transformation of medium-sized farms into large ones, and small-sized into medium-sized ones.

We have achieved a high quality of our products by equipping all our suppliers with cooling installations via 5 year interest-free loans, ensuring at the same time free servicing of milking parlours, milking machines and cooling apparatus by SPOMLEK services.

A great contribution into assuring the quality of milk for our products was made by our internal veterinary service, which at the cost of SPOMLEK conducts the treatment of mastitis and bovine reproductive disorders. We have also a modern, accredited laboratory for the evaluation of milk, which controls the quality of supplies.

The location close to Poland 's eastern border clearly defines the directions of our export. In 1998 we obtained Russian standard GOST and in the following years our plant and our products were certified for Ukraine and Belarus

In the past, Polish agriculture traditionally directed its produce to the Russian market. We at SPOMLEK have been actively attempting to build a market for our products in the eastern markets for over 10 years. About at that time we started to explore the market from the participation in the annual PRODEXPO fairs, and then 5 years ago in the WORLD FOOD fairs both in Moscow . The contacts made allowed us also to acquire a base of customers in the USA , Canada , Israel and Ukraine .

The annual participation in the fairs enabled us to recognize customers' tastes in these markets and their requirements relating to packaging and certification of goods.

At our Russian customers' request we began packaging our cheese to the ℮ standard, which means that each piece of cheese has a weight of 250 g , and some chosen brands of cheese are sold in the sliced form. Cheeses in pieces now account for almost half of all the deliveries. The Russian market is very vigorous, forever evolving, and changes in the customers' needs must be rapidly catered for.

Russia in general and Moscow in particular have very demanding consumers – and we do our best to meet these demands. In our plant we have hosted the largest Russian dairy firms, e.g. Wimm-Bill-Dann, Danon Moscow. We are always open to opportunities to work with new suppliers and customers.

The way we treat customers in this market can be attested by our RADAMER winning the silver medal at the PRODEXPO Moscow fair in 2003, and in 2004 the gold medal at the WORLD FOOD fair. Silver medals won also our cheeses GOUDA and PAVARTI at Kasiade 2000 in Hopfgarten/Tirol Austria.

In the nearest future we will introduce a complete novelty onto the dairy products market, namely yoghurt desserts OMI 3, with a supplement of multiunsaturated fatty acids. The beneficial effect of these acids on human health has been widely documented. We hope that by producing new desserts we will provide our customers with a positive tasting experience that adds to their physical fitness.
